What I'm Building

I've always had a range of interests, for better or worse at times. In my early twenties, when I was retail trading, I was doing more than trading. I was involved in the community, creating content, learning about the space, and trying to understand it from different angles. Outside of that, I had my own interests in fashion, religion, music, and plenty of other things. I didn't see how any of it connected back then. I just knew I was interested in a lot of different things, and that followed me into whatever I was working on.

After spending years in obscurity developing skills and working on things privately, the idea of an ecosystem started to feel like the only container that could hold my ideas. Looking back through old conversations, I found that I'd been thinking about building one as far back as March 2025. I didn't really know what it would look like at the time. An ecosystem could take a lot of forms, from a larger technical ecosystem to something built around a particular niche. I was still figuring out what one built around me and my work could become.

The start of the ecosystem
The start of the ecosystem.

More recently, I came across DonYé Taylor's essay, Okay, So Now What Do We Build? Her writing helped me get closer to what I was trying to understand. It got me thinking about how an ecosystem doesn't have to be built around an industry or a subject. It can grow out of a person's work, interests, and ideas. That gave me another way to look at what I'd been trying to build.

A lot of my work now revolves around a research program investigating how reasoning can be made observable, preserved as knowledge, and built upon across people, systems, and time without losing its integrity. That research has started to take shape in different ways. Some of it is becoming software and systems I'm developing, while some of it is finding its way into my writing. I'm also developing a creative studio, where I can explore how to make these ideas easier for other people to understand and explore.

And those interests I mentioned earlier still matter. I don't want the things I've spent years being interested in to sit completely outside the work I'm building. I can see fashion, music, architecture, history, and culture finding their own place in what this becomes. Over time, I hope that means creating more products, working with other people, and maybe even building spaces where people can come across the work and explore it for themselves.

A lot of early work happened in here.

I've spent a long time working on things privately, with very little of that work visible to the outside world. Now I'm starting to see how some of those pieces might fit together, and I'm ready to start bringing the work out there.
